The Fairline History
Although Fairline was founded in 1867 to build small power boats in England, it wasn’t until almost 100 years later in 1963 when the vision of a young Jack Newington was realized, Oundle Marina was established and the 1st Fairline boat, a handcrafted 19’ River-cruiser, was launched. Today Fairline yachts is one of the oldest and most established builders of luxury performance boats up to 80’.
When Jack retired, his son Sam took over expertly guiding Fairline Yachts and overseeing its expansion for the next 25 years. Fairline Yachts grew rapidly and launched the Phantom 32 in 1974, as well as the first Targa in 1985. Fairline entered the ‘large yacht’ market in 1991 with the introduction of Squadron series. The exceptional performance and opulent living spaces of Fairline’s motor yachts have caused the vessels to be eagerly sought by discriminating customers seeking the very best of British craftsmanship.
Fairline Yachts continues to be an exceptionally successful and innovative company, with a global dealer network, U.S. subsidiary company, and devoted following of satisfied owners.
