America’s Cup World Series Announced June 6, 2011

The 2011 season of the America's Cup World Series sailing regattas have been announced. The series consists of three regattas, with the first event kicking off in Cascais, Portugal from August 6th through the 14th. The second event in the America's Cup series will take place in Plymouth, England from September 10th to the 18th. Fort Lauderdale’s Bahia Mar Renovation Gets First Approval May 30, 2011

The proposed $250 million renovation of Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale received the first of two approvals in mid-May by city commissioners. Plans for the renovation include an updated Bahia Mar hotel, a new five-star Waldorf Astoria, a waterfront park and a permanent home for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. LXR Resorts, owned by the Blackstone Group, has been negotiating with the city for five years to renovate Bahia Mar.
