Owned by the same family for 30 years.  Approximately 75 of these sturdy trawlers were built by the noted sailboat designer, Charlie Morgan.   Her shoal draft makes it easy to explore shallow water lagoons and anchorages.  She is built on a solid fiberglass modified V hull with a long keel, a deep fore foot, and a very large rudder.

Description

Yellowbird is a fine example of a sturdy "no nonsense" trawler ready to take you to sea. She has been in the same family for 30 years and has had continuous upgrades. Her low profile with high flared bow, makes for a seaworthy little ship. Many recent upgrades include: new paint, new aluminum top, new bow thruster, and new air conditioner.

She is easily boarded from the wide side decks, large cockpit or by tender from the swim platform. The cockpit has room for chairs and a small table. The cap rails are teak and the exterior decks are all non-skid fiberglass.

The side decks are wide with a starboard side cabin sliding door. The forward trunk cabin top is unobstructed and the bow has a lot of room for operating the windless.

The salon is accessed through the large teak sliding door from the cockpit. Immediately to port is a large settee which converts to a large twin sleeper. There is a teak hi/low table that flips open for dining for six people. The sole has a large throw rug. Across to port are two wicker bench seats with new cushions and storage below. All windows have either wood blinds or exterior sunscreens.

Midship to port is the galley. This area features a u-shaped galley with double stainless steel sinks, gas stove, microwave, new refrigerator, and abundant storage. Across from the galley is the lower helm station. Highlights include full instrumentation, large stainless steel ships wheel and quick access to the starboard side deck.

Forward of the galley, three steps down to port, is the enclosed cabin. A very large single berth pulls out to convert to a double berth. Other items include: Bomar deck hatch, two portholes, teak accents, carpeted sole and long shelves.

Across to starboard is the enclosed head. Appointments include large sink, shower stall with teak platform, electric head, deck hatch and two portholes.

All the way forward is the guest cabin. Items include: v-berth, Bomar deck hatch, teak wall coverings, carpeted sole, hanging locker and numerous drawers.
