Who’s ready to see the famous U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds this year?

Who’s ready to see the famous U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds at the Air Show this year? The “Thunderbirds”, are the Air Force’s Ambassadors in Blue. They represent the 500,000 men and women of the United States Air Force. The Thunderbirds plan and present precision aerial maneuvers. This exhibits the capabilities of modern, high-performance aircraft as well as, the high degree of professional skill required to operate those aircraft.

The Lauderdale Air Show has developed over the years into a huge spectator event gathering millions of families to Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Founded by Mickey Markoff in 1995 as a free, heavily-sponsored, two-day event. Markoff designed the event to help the U.S. military with their recruiting, morale and retention. It was also a way to reconnect the U.S. military with the American public in a positive way. According to Broward tourism and Fort Lauderdale city officials, the event filled about 1200 hotel rooms each day and generated more than $5 million for the local economy.

This year’s Lauderdale Air Show will take place May 5-6, 2018 at Ft. Lauderdale Beach. The event has created a VIP experience known as the Flight Line Club. This is the second year, the event has received approval to have the entire VIP venue located on the beach. Providing an area away from the crowded beaches, unobstructed views of the show and a shaded area with tents. Not to mention, catered food and beverages!
