ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

• General-DC systems are designed and installedin accordance withRINA rules. The enginestarting,gensetstarting, and ships service systems are all independent ofeach otherand each has morethan one means of charging.
• EngineStarting System-The enginestarting system consists of two (2) 290,12 volt, maintenance free typebatteries,wired as a24 voltbank, for each main engine. The twobattery banks are charged by theirrespective engine alternators (assupplied by enginesupplier) as well as a24 volt60 ampmultibankbattery charger.The engine control electronics for each engine powered by respectivebattery banksand alsoservicebattery bank as backup power.A circuit breaker panel is providedfor engine electronics and controls.
• GensetStarting System-The gensetstarting system consists of one (1) 120,12 volt, maintenance free typebattery.Eachbattery is charged by its respective genset alternator (assupplied bygensetsupplier). Thecontrol power for each genset is derived from its ownbattery.
• Ships ServiceBatteries-The ships service system consists of six (6) 290 ah,12 volt, maintenance free typebatteries,wired asa three24 voltbanks. Each bank may be selectedisolatedor the banks may beselectedinparalleleduse. Service bank is charged by twobattery chargers in parallel (100A+80A). Onedistribution panel is provided inengineroom.

ALARM AND MONITORING SYSTEM

• The system is powered bytheshipsservicebatteries for continuous operation. The system usescolor touch screen operator interface terminalslocatedin the pilothouse, andCrewLounge. Thesystem displays alarms andmonitorsvarious systems including fuel and water tank levels.Multiple screen pages and the generous screen size allow foreasy to readgraphical display oflocation and type of alarms andmonitoredsystems.
• TheOctoplexsystemismonitoringlevels of each fueltankand the water tank can be read. Eachtank has its own sensor. Internal watertight doors between various areas aremonitored. Thevoltage of thebatteries forshipsservice and enginestarting can be displayed.
• Extensive monitoring of alarm points is included with the system. The system program logs allalarms with time and date stamp, easily accessed via any of the touch screens.
• Allbilgeareas aremonitoredforhighlevel. Backup alarms (independent of the shutdown alarms)for each genset are provided, including oil pressure, water temperature, and coolingwater flow.
• Multiple alarms are provided tomonitorthe sewage and grey water pumping and treatment system for proper operationand tankhigh levels. The freshwater and day tanks have low levelalarms.

FIXED FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM
