Layout

Rhapsody is a custom version of the Plan B optional interior layout of the Tartan 40 with a forward cabin with a privacy door and dual access head, a spacious main salon with a double berth to port and a single berth to starboard, and a double quarter berth aft.

The forward cabin has a custom HMC latex mattress. There are two hanging lockers and two drawers with an additional storage area below, as well as port and starboard shelves above the v-berth. A large overhead hatch and three (3) smaller hatches (all Lewmar Offshore) provide ventilation and light. Storage, house batteries and holding tank is under this berth. The windlass breaker switch and access to the anchor locker are in the peak of the v-berth. A bi-fold teak door affords privacy.

The head has a vanity, electric head, sink, double medicine cabinet with mirrored doors, and a separate shower stall with seat, with hot/cold pressure water as well as foot pump in sink for lower water usage/offshore.  There is ample storage under the sink and in cabinets above the shower seat. Two doors provide access into the head, one from the forward cabin and one from the main salon area.

The main salon features a C-shaped settee to port with a large drop leaf table that folds down from the forward bulkhead, behind which is a custom bookshelf. The port settee converts to a double bunk. To starboard is a full-length settee with a single berth. Cabinets and lockers above the settees on both sides afford plenty of storage. The teak trim, doors and handrails are oiled and well-maintained. The dining table and cabin sole are varnished. A flat screen 12v TV with DVD player is built-in to one of the lockers; a stereo/CD player and Sirius XM radio are nearby at the nav station, with speakers in the salon and cockpit. There is also a liquor locker to starboard. A large Lewmar Offshore overhead hatch and four opening side ports provide adequate light and ventilation. There are also two overhead lights and two brass reading lamps, two Turbo fans, two stereo speakers and a wine glass rack.

The well-equipped L-shaped galley is to port, with ample storage available in drawers and lockers. There is a 3 burner CNG stove/oven and double S.S. sinks, with custom teak covers providing additional counter space.

Directly aft of the galley is a bosun’s locker with four large shelves and a port for ventilation.

Opposite of the galley on starboard is the well-equipped navigation station with a large chart table with storage beneath the hinged table as well as four drawers. The starting battery is beneath the navigation seat.

Directly aft of the navigation station is a quarter berth with a large foam cushion for an additional double berth. The fuel tank and two large storage areas are beneath the quarter berth.

The engine is under the companionway ladder with an easily removed cover affording excellent access.

Teak companionway boards with lock provide security.

The cockpit is large enough for six people to sit comfortably on either side on custom cushions. There is a large sail locker underneath the port cockpit seats and a huge, full beam lazarette with port and starboard access hatches. There is a custom varnished teak table with two leaves and custom drink holders that attaches to the Edson binnacle, as well as custom-made teak gratings to aft. The engine control panel is located to starboard. A Whale manual bilge pump is to port and an emergency tiller access plate aft is located aft of the binnacle.

Sale does not include owner’s personal effects or dinghy and motor.
