First Annual ASMEX Looks to Make a Splash

Exciting news is coming out of the land down under.  The first annual 2011 Australia Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) is hitting the Gold Coast on May 17 and 18.  The two-day event will take place at the Sanctuary Cove Marine Village Theater, a region known for building leading luxury boats, in the state of Queensland, Australia.

The first-ever conference will precede the world-renowned Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which celebrates its’ 23rd year on May 19 through the 22.  Visitors from around the world are drawn to the popular show for their luxury yachts for sale and large showcase of marine industry products.

The addition and focus of ASMEX is to promote Australia as a top cruising destination.  The conference will gather marine industry stakeholders, boat builders, manufacturers and service providers to address significant issues facing the superyacht industry.  Covering a range of topics from current market conditions to training a superyacht crew, ASMEX will include panel discussions and key note speakers.  Special guests include Iain Murray, America’s Cup CEO and Regatta Director, Sandy Oatley, responsible for the internationally acclaimed Hamilton Island, and Carla Demaria of Monte Carlo Yachts.

Registration is open and available on their website—www.superyachtbase.com.  Guests will receive access to the entire conference, welcome reception, industry dinner and two complimentary passes to the 23rd annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which will follow the event.
