Deep Water Yacht Dockage in Fort Lauderdale Expanding

Deep Water Yacht Dockage in Fort Lauderdale Expanding

Yacht ServicesOur headquarter sales office is located dock-side along the Dania Cut Off Canal, just south of Port Everglades, in the yachting capital of the world, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Last October we were excited to hear that a dredging project was approved that will bring the controlled operating depth of the canal from 10 to 17 feet. We now know that Lucas Marine of Stuart, FL has taken the dredging deal valued at $6.3M and will be responsible for the dredge after 15 years of permitting and planning. The first stage of the project will start very soon, first by deepening the southern two berths at Port Everglades. Then the project will progress West into the Dania canal all the way until US1. The Dania canal project is expected to be fully completed by February 2013. This is actually the first phase of a larger dredging project that will eventually expand north through the port all the way up to Las Olas Blvd.

The docks at our office at Harbour Towne Marina have a lot of advantages. There are no bridges between us and the ocean so you don’t have to wait for bridge openings. Therefore we are minutes from Port Everglades inlet. The marina features wetslips accommodating vessels up to 200′, 613 dry storage spaces for boats up to 50′.  Along with complete marine repair facilities there is an 88-ton travel lift and yard for haul outs.
