Atlantic Yacht and Ship is gearing up for the 53rd Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The “Yachting Capital of the World” will host this spectacular show on October 25-29, 2012. A wide variety of boats and sea vessels will be on display including runabouts, sportfishers, high performance boats, center consoles, cabin cruisers, flats boats, skiffs, express cruisers, sailing yachts, motor yachts, bowriders, catamarans, ski boats, jet boats, trawlers, inflatables, canoes, and extraordinary superyachts. With more than 200 vessels ranging in length from 296 feet to 8 feet there is something for everyone.
The annual show is spread across six sites: the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, the Broward County Convention Center, the Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel & Yacht Club, Hyatt Pier 66 Hotel & Marina, the Hall of Fame Marina, and the Las Olas Marina. With over 3 million square feet of space, the show’s transportation network of bus shuttles, water taxis, and riverboats ensures attendees can easily navigate the boat show and its expansive waterways system. There is even a free mobile boat show app to help visitors find the boats and marine products they are searching for.
Opening day is Thursday, October 25th from 10am- 7pm. This international show continues on Friday and Sunday – the doors will open at 10am -7pm, and the event wraps up on Monday from 10am-5pm. Show general admission is $20 for Adults and $5 for children (6-15), children under 6 are free. Prime Time Preview tickets for Thursday at $36 and 2-Day tickets are $38. There is a $2 discount for tickets purchased online.
In addition to the wide selection of watercraft, marine accessories, refreshments and live musical entertainment, the show offers special events and fun and educational activities for boaters of all ages. The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) School of Sportfishing will be hosting eight “mini-sessions” with some of the area’s best captains and professional anglers who will share sportfishing’s hottest tips and tricks. The annual Kid’s Fishing Clinics will be presented by Hook the Future on Saturday and Sunday, at noon and 2 p.m. The clinic is free for children ages 5-16.
This year the Fort Lauderdale International boat show has added some special attractions. The Blue Wild Dive and Travel Show Seminars are for young or old, beginner to advanced, anyone who loves the underwater world. Interact with subject matter experts as this hands on workshop features freediving, scuba, spearfishing, marine art, boating, safety, conservation, underwater photography, videography, product demos, and more!!!
