Even though Hurricane Sandy is blowing around the Atlantic, the 53rd Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will start Thursday as planned with its Prime Time Preview. The show continues on Friday and Sunday – the doors will open at 10am -7pm, and the event wraps up on Monday from 10am-5pm. Show general admission is $20 for Adults and $5 for children (6-15), children under 6 are free. Prime Time Preview tickets for Thursday at $36 and 2-Day tickets are $38. There is a $2 discount for tickets purchased online.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show takes over the “Yachting Capital of the World,” with exhibits ranging from yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts. An enormous variety of boats and sea vessels will be on display including sportfishers, runabouts, high performance boats, cabin cruisers, center consoles, flats boats, skiffs, express cruisers, sailing yachts, motor yachts, catamarans, bowriders, ski boats, jet boats, trawlers, canoes, inflatables, and incomparable superyachts. There is something for every budget and taste!
The show covers over 3 million square feet of space and takes place this year at six locations: Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Municipal Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Broward County Convention Center and Sails Marina. There is a transportation network of bus shuttles, water taxis, and riverboats to ensure attendees can easily navigate the expansive waterways system, with a Drop N’ Go dock where boats up to 40 feet may drop off or pick up guests at the Hall of Fame Marina show location on the Intracoastal Waterway.
