This year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is shaping up to be the best yet, with the addition of several exciting new attractions. For the 54th year, the sunny “Yachting Capital of the World” will play host to this spectacular event, expected to draw hundreds of thousands of marine aficionados from everywhere around the globe. The annual event, the largest in-water boat show in the world, is set to run from October 31 through November 4, with boats for every budget and lifestyle, live music, and an incredible assemblage of everything marine, brought together in six locations that encompass over 3 million square feet of space.
The show’s most spectacular attraction for this year is SeaFair, a 228-foot megayacht venue displaying an extensive array of fine art specifically for yachts and home, jewelry, real estate, and fashion for the most discerning clientele in 25 showcase settings. From its position dockside at the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel and Marina restaurant and bar, the world’s only exhibition megayacht will offer a restaurant and VIP lounges to provide an exclusive club-like environment for boat show guests.
Another new attraction, the Sailfish Pavilion, located at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center show location, will feature a variety of displays inside and out, including the Miss Geico offshore racing boat, and a fishing pond. Famished guests can find refreshments at the new bar and food trucks. Other riveting exhibits include a flying car, personal submarine, an exotic auto display, and floating cocktail lounges. The show has an exciting schedule of fishing and boating seminars and workshops, including their annual Kids’ Fishing Clinics, The Blue Wild Dive and Travel Show Seminars, and IGFA School of Sportfishing’s stellar seminars with some of the area’s best captains and professional anglers.
The boat show’s six locations, the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel & Yachting Center, the Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Municipal Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Sails Marina, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, will conveniently be connected by a transportation network of bus shuttles, water taxis, and riverboats for ease of navigation.
The show opens Thursday, Oct. 31 for the Prime Time Preview, and is open from 10am to 7 pm October 31-November 3, with closing day Monday, November 4 open from 10am to 5pm. Admission is $20 for adults online ($22 at show), $5 for children ages 6-15 ($7 at show), and children under 6 attend for free. The Prime Time Preview on Thursday is $36 online, $38 at the show, and a two-day ticket can be purchased for $38 online, or $40 at the show.
