Grand Alaskan Yachts was born out of skilled and careful trawler hull designs and has become known for sea worthy yachts for yachtsmen. With Portuguese bridge decks and raised pilothouses, these yachts are bred for offshore cruising. Today’s modern fiberglass Alaskans are even more stylish, comfortable and seaworthy than their predecessors. However they still retain the same traditional styling and offshore performance capabilities of their early pedigree. Indeed the new Alaskan 55′-100′ designs still bare an almost identical physical similarity to the original wooden 49′. A great example of Grand Alaskan craftsmanship is the 60′ Grand Alaskan yacht model.
Launched in 2000, “Fusion” is a 60′ Grand Alaskan raised pilothouse motor yacht. Enter through double aft doors into this truly inviting salon with built-in seating, entertainment center, and large Panasonic flat screen TV (new in 2010). There is ample storage throughout with seating at the pass through bar. A day head is featured to starboard across from the galley, which features full-size GE appliances and granite counter tops. The master stateroom is positioned amidships in order to reduce vessel pitch when at anchor and is laid out with lots of storage space. Entering this pilothouse the experienced yachtsman will feel he has everything at his fingertips for cruising comfort. All electronics were extensively updated in 2011 and 2012. The helm seat is a very comfortable Stidd chair. Aft of the helm chair is an elevated lounge seat that can easily accommodate 4 guests. The table here folds down for dining and can accommodate 6 to 8 easily. This lounge area can double as another berth if needed. As many have said “this is the best seat in the house”. It’s warm and dry in foul weather and cool and comfortable in the hottest weather. Leading up the stairs to starboard one enters the fly bridge through a sliding Lucite hatch. This is an extremely well equipped long range cruiser which has been continually upgraded by a knowledgeable owner. Located in Florida, “Fusion” is asking $789K.
