Their success is evident as they have recently announced that they plan to double their yard capacity which is currently available to accommodate the simultaneous builds of five yachts in the 80 meter plus category in various stages of the build process. “We are currently expanding the ship yard in order to double our construction capacity,” Dr. Al Barwani, who acquired the facility in March 2010, said. “Our business in the Netherlands is extremely successful. In the past year we sold about five super-yachts. The total value of these super-yachts would be about 750 -800 million euros. Currently we have investment of 80-100 million euros, of which we essentially paid around 85 million euros when we bought the company. We then (added) working capital of 20 to 30 million euros. Our future expansion is another 80 million euros. Our total investment, when it all (adds up), would be around 200 million euros.” This shows that Oceanco intends to continue to build innovative and revolutionary “large” yachts for years to come.
