Since its inception in 1967, Fairline Yachts has climbed the ranks earning itself the distinguished honor of being one of England’s largest manufactures of production motor yachts, flybridge sedans and express cruisers. Fairline began as a post-war manufacturer of small power boats used in the local English market, its first boat being a handcrafted 19′ river cruiser. The 1970s and 1980s saw a period of rapid growth and success for Fairline, and they began building larger and more expensive models like their acclaimed Turbo 36 and first Targa launched in 1985. In 1991, Fairline entered the “large yacht” market with their Squadron series and has continued to produce quality vessels.Today Fairline fields a dozen models, with exports to Spain, Norway, France and the United States. In 1997, the company was purchased by The Renwick Group, a parent company of England’s Marine Projects, which also owns Princess Yachts and in 1998, Fairline opened an office in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The quality of these vessels is due largely in part to Fairline’s cornerstone values – style, performance, and integrity. The implementation of these values earned Fairline’s Targa 38 the ‘European Powerboat of the Year’ award in 2007. In 2011, Fairline Boats Ltd was acquired by Better Capital and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
