Along with increasingly larger yachts being built, boat shows have been growing around the world as we saw at this years Cannes show. That includes the Stuart Boat Show which will have over $100 million in productions on display. This includes more than 500 boats of all shapes and sizes both in-water and on land. Accompanying this vast array of boats will be the latest in engines, electronics, and pretty much every conceivable accessory from major marine manufacturers worldwide. Admission is only $10 and kids under 10 are free so it also makes for a perfect family weekend event. The 2013 show will run from Friday, January 11 through Sunday the 13th. The show is held underneath the Roosevelt Bridge and parking will be available at the corner of Dixie highway and Wright Blvd. There are shuttles that will take you to the show from there. After this past Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, we are expecting a strong turn out. We walked away with over 6 deals on yachts that we had on display from that show and have several other deals pending. This is a good sign that after a few relatively quiet years the yachting industry is picking up speed again. We also saw good crowds at this past Newport Show in Rhode Island where we hosted the new construction Sunseeker display. There we had an 88′ Sunseeker Yacht and a 48′ Sunseeker Portofino with IPS drives on display which certainly were popular. A highlight at the Stuart show is for trawler enthusiasts who can attend the Cruiser Expo which includes access to seminars on navigation, basic maintenance, and many other topics.
