Phew! With the powerful sound of hundreds of yacht horns blasting all at once you know that another Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has been completed. Although the Fort Lauderdale show is already the largest boat show in the world, this year the show grew even larger than ever. Not only was the show full in terms of the number of vessels that were featured, but it also was displaying even larger yachts than in previous years (with the largest boat in the show being “Cakewalk” which is a 281′ yacht that was built by Derektor shipyards in America). This trend has been consistent over the growth and development of the yachting industry as we are constantly seeing increasingly larger yachts being built.
Throughout the show, our display at Atlantic Yacht and Ship was bustling with activity. Although Hurricane Sandy did form a bump in the road for the first two days of the show, with heavy rain and gusting winds, buyers were still on the docks which resulted in lots of sales activity across the board. 
And, of course, as soon as the weather cleared on Saturday the storm left us with beautiful Florida blue skies, void of clouds, and refreshing tropical breezes over the remaining few days of the show. It is good to see lots of buying activity again and boats lined up to sea-trail strait out of the show.
